I'm proud to announce that the Malden Fire Department has been awarded $24, 355 in Firefighter Safety Equipment Grants from the Commonwealth for new thermal cameras to ensure that our firefighters have a full picture of the situations they enter, keeping them and all members of our community safer.
I'm proud to announce that Malden Public Schools have been awarded $2000 in Influence 100 Grants from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to support a staff fellow as they enter a two-year DESE leadership program designed to increase racial and ethnic diversity of superintendents in the Commonwealth.
The City of Malden and the Malden Redevelopment Authority (MRA) have launched a 2021 Small Business Assistance Program to provide up to $10k in grants for COVID-19 relief to eligible Malden businesses. Businesses with five or fewer full-time employees and with a low-or-moderate-income business owner may be eligible to apply.
